LESSON 25: THE STRENGTH AND WISDOM OF A DIVINE CHAMPION

MEMORY VERSE: “Behold thou desireth truth in the inward part and in

the hidden part thou shall make me to know wisdom”.

BIBLE PASSAGE: Daniel 2:1-5, 12-20

INTRODUCTION

Last week we examined Jesus Christ as the greatest champion. We also

learnt that He became a champion to make you one also if you can

accept Him as Lord and Saviour and follow Him. Today’s topic will focus

on the strength and wisdom of a champion.

LESSON OUTLINES

1. THE STRENGTH OF A DIVINE CHAMPION

2. THE WISDOM OF A DIVINE CHAMPION

THE STRENGTH OF A DIVINE CHAMPION

The divine champion receives divine strengthening and has nothing to

fear (Psalm 27:1). Human strength often fails (1 Samuel 2:9). The divine

champion is strengthened by God (1Kings 19:5-7). The shame,

reproaches, troubles, failures, sickness that plague men will be crushed

by a divine champion because he is able to do the extraordinary

(2 Corinthians 12:10). Good examples are Hannah, David, Daniel.

THE WISDOM OF A DIVINE CHAMPION

Divine champions usually have special wisdom by which they become

stars (Daniel 2:20-21). Wisdom makes way for progress and success

(Ecclesiastes 10:10; 1 Samuel 3:19; Genesis 41:33-41). He is also God’s

representative that will be used by God to bless people (Genesis 14:16;

2 Kings 2:19-22). God will always honour and back a divine champion (1

Kings 18:36-38; Daniel 3:16-18, 24-26).

However, sin can destroy a careless divine champion and rob him of his

glorious victory (Judges 16:28-30).

CONCLUSION

To remain a divine champion, you must run away from every trace of

sin (Proverbs 14:34).
